metal gear covers

Hi folks,
Is there anyone who has approval and/or is currently making metal gear covers that would replace the fabric on the gear legs? I think I saw this awhile back but don't remember who or where.

Thanks...

I posted one of the following pictures some time ago so this may be the plane you are thinking of. I shot the pictures in June, 2005, in Fairbanks. I did not get the registration number of the plane. If you go to the gallery and click on a picture then click once more on the medium size image, you can study the design in excruciating detail.

Back in 1974 i had a pa18a that was converted to a superbear by james flanagan stc sa-900 ce and he put metal gear covers on with a gear step, it looked real good and easy to enter front seat.

The speed increase of those worthless gear fairings on the yellow Cub in the pictures would have been more than offset by just leaving off the worthless drag making homemade upper safety cables that are attached to the wrong upper bolt.

Also, If you home in on the picture in the gallery of the shot that has the transponder antennae up close, note two things: The cabane ear appears to be cracked in the normal spot from the top down along the edge of the welded-on washer --- and, the brake disc is mightily rusted so maybe it doesn't fly much.
