hey guys,
i have a new (to me) engine ($55k spent on rebuild, and only 60 hours use, has been preserved after removal from the airframe) as above that was removed from a ground damaged Mooney. i bought it to instal in my new 'Experimental Javron Cub' that is nearing completion.i have removed everything from the back of the engine in preparation to instal a B&C oil filter adaptor, new P-mags, B&C stand-by alternator and a new Jihostroj propeller governor for my Whirlwind Aviation Constant Speed prop.
i am looking for advice and any pitfalls when i bolt on all the new goodies? it seems to be straight forward, but there are always things to be aware of for the enthusiastic amateur.
1. Torque settings for all the above?
2. Backlash for the governor drive? there is a locating dowel there, and no adjustment? do i just go ahead and install the adapter and governor with the unit aligned on the dowel?
3. are the factory torque settings enough to prevent the securing nuts from backing out? there's no lock wiring facility on any of the accessories? should i use 'Loctite' on the nuts as i instal each item? Spring or star washers?
as usual, i'd appreciate any input into this.
TIA,
Phil
