Jerry should be very pleased. I guess the blue striping shows his french heritage!!
Mel Wick built mine very similar and I must say flying a brand new bird is awsome...even if the data plate was born in 1968. How old is the data plate on Jerry's cub?

Gorgeous, absolutey gorgeous! Jerry, can I have a ride if I ever make it to your neck of the woods? :)

And, Jerry claims he never made any money guiding  .

Sorry, couldn't resist!!

Nice looking, functional Cub. Congratulations.

MTV

Brian should take a bow!! He did a fantastic job there a few more mods not listed. Brian is being modest about the quality of work he has done. It looks a lot better in real life.

But I have 4.8 gripes.
Brian states it weighs 1,100 even with oil

I was there for the weigh in and the weight on the digital scales said 1,095.2.

As to getting a ride? Sure you are welcome any time you get to Idaho in the
winter or Alaska in the summer.

It will gain a few more pounds when the 35" bush wheels go on but that will not be until I can sell something. Anyone need an Aluminum Drift Boat?

Jerry

Jerry,

I added 5 pounds for the front and rear seat padding that we didn't have for the weigh in.

Jay,
Yes, 160 horse wide deck motor with Lycon tricks. :)

Jerry is right, I didn't mention all of the mods. But considering the 10 months to build it, I forgot a bunch. I do know the list of future mods.
We will be modifying the lower cowl when we put the round air filter box on.
We will try the thrust line mod and if Jerry likes it enough we will build some new side cowls and then repaint the stripes to match right.
Like Jerry said, 35 inch bushwheels.
We are also going to look into field approving a landing light in the old oil cooler opening in the nose bowl.
I believe Jerry is looking for a Fireman cargo/23 gallon combo belly pod.

This airplane already had a bunch of stuff already approved on it. It is approved for a lumber rack, under seat storage box ect....
Look at my photo album for more pictures.

But for right now, Jerry is just going to fly it.

Brian.

hey jerry, you have one hell of a cub brain did a very great job before you take it home can i get a ride i will spring for fuel marc n43643

Worst thing about a new plane is worrying about tearing it up....it gets better after some bug juice on the windshield and oil on the belly......go fly the wings off that buggy!

Nice looking bird Jerry.....looks like you put them bumby things on the wings also; sure are hard on wing covers :-?

Grab and full cup of coffee...I'll give you a call

Nice Jerry!

Kind of singular though, I wouldn't fly too low if I were ya, that plane could get really recognizable really fast! :)

I just had mine done this winter too so I know what you're going through with a new bird, it sure was awesome though having all the tricks this hunting season though, and the dang thing did great!

I'd post pictures of my new rebuild if I friggin' knew how...:)

You're gonna be about the same weight as my cub with 31's when you add them 35's!

Take care!

RB

Hi Jerry and Brian,

Very nice, clean and light. What more could you want?

Jerry, stop by on your way north in the spring. I should have mine finished by then too.

Dan

Actually i am. Just got done talking about that at dinner. PM Me.

I have put the first 20 hours on the cub now and it has already gotten a little muddy. It stalls gentle, handles nicely at slow speed, takes off and lands short and cruses at 90 mph @ 2400 rpm. Happy to report it is the best flying cub I have ever owned.

Byron

VG + wing covers = 4 letter words. I used to get my mouth washed out with soap when said those words as a kid

Jerry
Just finished a busy season of winter survey work covers on every night.

Still have all the VG's on and no four letter words. My old boss told me this is how you do it and quit crying.about it.

Works fine for me:)

VG's and covers? Use two long sticks with open hook on end to lift the covers then pull over the wing from the tip in. Remove to rear or lift off with the dowels. Helps to have two do it, but one can still make it work.
