J5 with flaps needs PA-12 Fuselage Drawing #20875

I'm the owner of a J5A that at some point in the past was modified with PA-12 wings with PA-18 flaps. Unfortunately, the paperwork was never fully completed. Everything inside the fuselage (i.e. pulleys/flaphandle/rigging/etc.) has been approved by field approval. The PA-12 wings are considered a minor alteration, requiring only an IA signoff.

I've purchased the day and night STC for installing flaps on PA-12 wings. I was led to believe, with this information, I would be able to get field approval with a deviation for a J5. However, after 8 months of trying, the FAA is now saying I will have to pursue a one-time STC. To make a long story short, I'm trying to find a PA-12 fuselage drawing #20875 to support my data. Any assistance or advice on how to make this as painless as possible would be welcomed.

There is an STC to install PA-12 wings on the J-5 along with balance elevators.

Putting PA-12 wings on a J-5A is not even close to a minor deviation.

Which J-5 do you have A or C model?

I would get ron to write you a deviation letter saying you can use the data.

if early Pa-12 wings fit the J5, and if the J5 wings fit the J4, will Pa-12 wings fit the J4? Just curious Josh

Building a pa12 with all the mods from cub club has to offer found a pair of pa25 wings for half the price has any one don this before ? taken them apart flip them over set up for the new strut drill . add full flaps with a five degree up after trim out. set up with pa22 fuel tanks for the 1/4 ssteel wire x bracing the other are double all the way down droop wing 12 gal tanks. beef up at alignment point with heavy struts & end barrow. pa18 gear 3" extend. 18 tail feathers double clam shell Baggage door. with the 320 150 a2b or a 2ed 160model? not sure wich engine will use.
