Interior panels and baggage javron

Sisters, OR
Been looking at a javron cub with no interior panels and baggage goes straight into tail with no backstop.

I was told owner wanted to do everything to keep weight down.

98% of my cub flying is done just joy riding empty. I take the cub camping every now and again- so would be nice to carry some camping stuff when I want to.

Also- whats the risk of damaging fabric from inside without panels? Or something clothing stuck in the exposed trim pulleys?

Whats the best way to sort out baggage? Belly pod?

I take it adding panels on a javron is no big deal?

Anyways- just kicking around ideas. Will likely stick with my cub but experimental intrigues me.

It would not be 'that' hard to add the floor (first) and then the side panels on a finished airplane. I wouldn't stuff things back there that could get caught in control cables. I have the full extended baggage in my Javron - if I got one without it installed, I would definitely NOT install it and would add the belly pod instead.

The floor is actually in it. See picture.

I just want to ge able to add something to at least put some survival gear and tools back there behind the rear seat. Something to peotect the fabric on the side and and a backstop to keep stuff from going back into the tail.

I take it those little tabs with holes are to attach paneling. Is it a big deal? Checks some of my other boxes.

You could always put some adel clamps around the tubes, and a long screw and nut to tighten the clamp. Then put the interior panel on top, and secure with a nut. That’s a no weld option

WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE!! So you actually want your cub to be more than a one trick pony. Several simple ways to make it safe and usable. Do a bolt in/screw in interior making sure to cover the Rudder/elevator cables up to behind the rear seat. Do a search on extended baggage options, then get a belly pod. Despite reports that adding any weight to a cub will make it a totally useless flying aircraft some of us seem to get by just fine with properly outfitted multi role cubs.
