Identifying a wing

Is there a simple way to identify the wing used in a rebuild? PA-12 vs 14 vs 18 etc?

I have a PA-12 that has all the Cub mods to include Crosswind STOL wingtips and extended flaps. STCs reference installing the -18 parts and only sporadically mention the original equipment. The part that makes me wonder is the 18 gallon fuel tanks. I thought that the -12 was born with 19 gallon tanks.

Insights?

Original PA12 ribs are stamped on the nose. The 12 tank covers are attached to the leading edge and hinged. Control cables are different. Can you post pictures?

Edited: left out the nose part. Still Piper truss ribs.

Aileron cables are completely different. Aileron shape is different. Aileron travel is different. Nose ribs on an -18, not on -12.

If the original tanks were replaced with Wag-Aero aluminum tanks they will be 18 Gallons instead of 19. Not sure what other replacement tanks might be but mine has the Wag-Aero tanks.
