Help Kids Learn How to Build an Airplane and Create Future Aviators

I am president of EAA Chapter 27 and a Supercub.org member. I built and fly a Bearhawk which I took to Alaska last year. We have organized an RV-12 aircraft construction program with a Meriden High School in Connecticut. Since September 2015 we have completed the fuselage, wings, and tail. It is going very well with our first batch of seniors graduating this year. The kids are getting a lot out of the program. Not only are they learning about airplanes but are acquiring planning, organizing, teamwork, thoroughness, and a host of other valuable skills. The plan is to raise enough money to complete this plane, sell it, and use the proceeds to buy the next one. We will be self sufficient thereafter. We have raised about 20% of required funds to date through raffles, bake sales, and local solicitations. We will continue these activities. However, to increase and facilitate donations we have set up a GoFundMe.com campaign. Please visit the site and learn more about our youth education programs. Any size donation would be appreciated. Please forward a link to this post to anyone who might be interested.

Thank you,
Mark Scott
President EAA 27

P.S. Our build sessions are Sunday mornings 9-10, Monday evenings 6-8 at MMK. Stop by and take a look if you are in the area.

Hey Mark,

That is really cool! I guess now that the Bearhawk is done you have to build something else!

I miss those Dunkin Donuts at the EAA chapter meetings I attended with Laura :)

Best of luck to you and the group!

Awesome Mark!

Here is a picture of Mark's beautiful Bearhawk. These kids are in great hands!

Thanks for sharing your love of aviation with these kids!

Say hello to everyone for me.
