Have any of you seen this before?

Currently going through an annual inspection on a 1971 Super Cub and stumbled across this gem.

It’s a bone stock one owner airplane, bought new in 71 and equipped with a Sorensen spray setup.

For all the world this brake system looks like it could’ve been original to the airplane but I’ve never seen one like it on a cub.

Piper used copper tubing and Weatherhead fittings. This AC fittings are from WWII era airplanes. Looks like someone’s undocumented brake modification to me. Never seen anything like it in any Cub/Super Cub.

Does look like a Cherokee reservoir. With the amount of fluid that leaked onto the floor, I’d say it doesn’t work that well

Ask the owner if he checks his fluid level. Appears not to jive with a level aircraft.
