Regarding our Gandy Dance Airshow 2024:
For several financial reasons, it has been decided to scrub the Airshow for 2024. Dave Basten, our Airshow Coordinator has done a lot of legwork in trying to put together a quality show while at the same time being able to garner sufficient funds to pay for the show. Updated financials do not support a 2024 Gandy Dancer Airshow. Sad, for sure.
BUT...we have several other activities and events planned for throughout 2024 that include Young Eagle flights, Hamburger night, and Dave B has something "realy special" planned for this summer at KRZN. Greetings Fellow Flyers,
My name is Paul Schnacky, President of EAA Chapter 1537 located at the Burnett County Airport (KRZN) in Siren, Wisconsin.
We have an Airshow to do this summer, 2024! Gandy Dancer AirShow at Burnett County Airport (KRZN), July 20-21. We paused in 2023 due to financial constraints and expenses. We're back for 2024!
Volunteers from EAA Chapter 1537 - Northwoods Flyers dedicate countless hours arranging talent for an aerobatic show, static aircraft display, airplane rides, pancake breakfast and events for kids and grownups of all ages. This Airshow is free to attendees through the generosity of Burnett County and local merchants and sponsors. As an added bonus, the Howard Aircraft Foundation has a member meeting in Siren and about a dozen Howard DGA aircraft are at the field during the AirShow. Our EAA Chapter 1537 volunteers host a hangar barbecue Friday night before the AirShow for all participants and volunteers in the AirShow. Friday, July 19th is the practice day and that evening is the BBQ. There is more information to be updated on the Airshow at
https://chapters.eaa.org/eaa1537/event-calendar.
We would like to take this opportunity to invite area members of your SuperCub organization to join us for this year's show, be it a static display or demonstration. Our objective has always been to provide a great aviation related experience to not only the residents of Northwest Wisconsin but for fly-in pilots and their families. Our mission is to get people, young and old to "Start Flying." We would be pleased to work with you on the logistics of any aircraft coming to participate. We have 100LL fuel.
If you know of other pilots with classic or unique aircraft who would be interested in flying into the Airshow, please feel free to pass along this information and my contact information as well.
Now the Gandy Dancer Airshow is not a sponsored event of our EAA Chapter 1537, but many of the members as well as the community are volunteers. As President of the Chapter I do want to advocate for this event in promotion of our local airports and EAA Chapters.
Thanks for your time. Please feel free to respond to this email, navcom.vor@gmail.com or give me a call.
