G3X Question

When in full screen I have small “panes” with map and flight plan on the lower half. Is there a way to hide those? I never use flight plan and rarely use the map.

I’ve always had a case for my iPhone above the G3X but now have changed that to an iPad mini 6 since the screen is improved. I run Garmin Pilot in moving map so don’t need that on the G3X. I can toggle the iPad screen for traffic, weather, etc so tend to leave the G3X in full screen with EIS on the right margin.

I seldom use full screen mode but the pilot guide section 8.10 VIRB VIDEO INPUT lists these possible selections for the "inset windows":

Off, Map, Traffic, Flight Plan, and Video Input.

"1) From the full screen PFD, touch the MENU Key.
2) Touch the left or right Inset Window Button."

It's a long time since I experimented with this and I have G Meter displayed on the left inset when in full screen mode. Maybe the pilot guide section 8.10 VIRB VIDEO INPUT list is incomplete.

I’m going to like this arrangement. Anyone know how an iPad prioritizes when connected to two Bluetooth sources? This iPad connects to the G3X and the back-up GDL simultaneously. Is one source driving it and the second source standing by?

Whats this symbol? It shows on the map next to the symbols for ADS connectivity but I cant find it in the G3X manual. There are two that show ADS working and ground station connectivity but this one shows below that. I dont think it refers to anything ADS relates?!

My GPS is a different model than yours. Pop up symbols similar to that one show up when I'm low enough for the obstacle to be a threat. At a higher altitude in the same location the symbol would not appear.

It is infact an annunciator to indicate that obstacles are being depicted at the selected zoom level of the map. Mystery solved.
