Fuel caps - vented, unvented?

Searched a bit but didn’t fully answer:

1952 L21, 0-320 conversion (from 0-290), should the caps be unvented to vented? The caps look to be unvented?

Are the caps the only venting in a stock fuel system with header tanks!

What’s the extra line that is ‘T’ed into the top of the right hand sight gauge and runs to rear header tank?

thanks for explanation….

All the caps are vented. There is a hole under the edge.

The extra line is to vent the header tank so there is no air in it.

Caps are vented. I am guessing this is stock.
Lots of modifications, so trying to work out what’s what.

Extra line to rear header makes sense.

Thankyou.

Definitely vented … if not you can collapse your fuel tank. Had a piece of rubber gasket on the cap plug up the vent and collapsed the tank a little before the engine sputtered and was getting thirsty so I gave it some gas from the other side.

Thats why I’d like a vent line between the two tanks. And then inspect your cabs regularly.
