We finally got to fly our Smith's Cubs into Maine. On Friday afternoon we departed St. Stephen N.B. direct to Sherbrooke Qc. The weather was as good as it gets , thankfully as it was my our first experience in mountain flying. I know they are not that big but it's a first. We went to the Sherbrooke fly in called the Faucher De Marguerite .
On Sunday the weather was not as nice. We left in light rain showers and the ceiling was only about 500 ft above the peaks at the beginning of our journey. A couple miles in it got much better and soon the ceiling was not a concern. We decided to have Bangor as our first leg and had a pleasant first time clearing customs. We soon set off St. Stephen to clear Canadian customs and surprisingly, had the same treatment.
We learned a lot on this trip, made a few non lethal mistakes, but did have fun. Next time we will have to look some of you locals up. Beautiful area, but did not have the time to explore.
