Flying through Maine

We finally got to fly our Smith's Cubs into Maine. On Friday afternoon we departed St. Stephen N.B. direct to Sherbrooke Qc. The weather was as good as it gets , thankfully as it was my our first experience in mountain flying. I know they are not that big but it's a first. We went to the Sherbrooke fly in called the Faucher De Marguerite .
On Sunday the weather was not as nice. We left in light rain showers and the ceiling was only about 500 ft above the peaks at the beginning of our journey. A couple miles in it got much better and soon the ceiling was not a concern. We decided to have Bangor as our first leg and had a pleasant first time clearing customs. We soon set off St. Stephen to clear Canadian customs and surprisingly, had the same treatment.
We learned a lot on this trip, made a few non lethal mistakes, but did have fun. Next time we will have to look some of you locals up. Beautiful area, but did not have the time to explore.

Not having to come too far south stop into MLT Millinocket, Maine. Jeff Campbell operates the FBO during the week and is great to deal with along with having a soft spot for cubs.

Hello John
We'll have to get a few destinations in Maine and make a small trip out of it someday.

Howdy Dana,
Glad to see you back on the site.
Come on down and try to pronounce a few of our towns.
Thibodaux, Mamou, Choupic, The Vacherie, Krotz Springs,
and the ever popular Dry Prong.

(And BTW get Shorty on an exercise program)

Dana,
Glad to see you on line. We got some real dillys for names in NM and TX. I'll look some of them up.

Joe-- Don't forget Pierre Part, Breaux Bridge and Maurepas !!! By the way, I have a set of amphibs for my L-21 B and would like to take a look at your cub. I am just over the swamp here in Gonzales. Would you reach me by email and give me your contact info? My email address is smjoff@yahoo.com.
