Flying a Kodiak to ID- recommendations for camping

A buddy and I are headed to ID in a week (around July 24) to do a little camping, fishing, and flying. We have been a time or two but are taking a Kodiak this time so the airstrip requirements are a little more than the Cubs and Husky. Any suggestions for Kodiak friendly places other than the well known spots? I'm sure we will base at Johnson Creek a couple days, maybe Bruce Meadows and Big Creek for a night.

Wx forecast is damn hot so shaded camping and a river will be a bonus.

Hey John- Looks like we may be basing at Johnson Creek the majority of the trip and flying out from there. I'll reach out if we are anywhere close. Would be great to stop by again! I already checked your weather too. Will be warmer there than here in NC!

I vote for Moose Creek.

Had a great 9 days in Idaho and Montana. Spent several nights at Johnson Creek but the favorite by far was Moose Creek. We enjoyed great weather and met some of the nicest folks. Was good to get in my own bed but already miss the back country.
