I tried to sell the 12 for about a month this summer. No takers. What's next? Spend more money on it, of course! The PA-12 now has been plumbed and rigged for FliLite 3000 hydraulic skis that I purchased from another site member using special 3" extended gear with permanent FliLite fittings incorporated by FA Dodge. My mechanic did a fantastic job of installing the hydraulic pump on the fuselage side opposite the throttle. The installation is so nice I doubt I'll ever remove the pump, even though provisions were made to do so fairly easily.

MCS Mike, another mechanic and friend who's responsible for my 12's existence just forwarded me a YouTube video he took while the plane was being rigged (PA12 mods). Mike is photographing some details for future use on another project. Some other 12 owners may see something of value. Check out Mike's other videos, like the Fairchild he just helped renovate. Nice airplane! Nice channel bender, too.

Stewart, How many pumps on the handle to get the wheels up or down?

Tim,

I don't know yet, I was out chasing sheep while the plane was being rigged. The Cessna skis take 45 strokes using the same pump model. It sounds worse than it is.

Skis

Just an FYI....

I heard today that Landes Airglass is moving ahead with the "Cub version" of their LH-4000's. Supposed to have them ready for the Alaska Airman's show in the spring. Too bad for this winter but real good news for next.....

Take care.

My Flilite 3000's take 50 pumps down and 50 pumps up. You don't start changing position of them on short final unless you have a very fast arm:) :)
