I am looking for the part number for the outer aileron cable fairlead. Thats the small fairlead about 1/2 way between the jury strut and the outer end of the strut.

The fairlead is much smaller than the other ones on the strut. Its split into two pieces and looks like it's held in place just by the clamping force of the bracket that holds it. Just noticed tonight that 1/2 is missing is missing on the right wing.

I can't find a reference to the fairlead in my PA18 parts manual, and also don't see it in the Univair catalog.

i've gotten these from Stoddards. (don't know the part number but give them a call.) They don't start out being split. It is a sign of old age or field replacement. They are best installed on the new control cable during its assembly.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll just fabricate a new fairlead from UHMW. To make everything legal I'll use plastic from the aviation department at the local plastics shop. :D On my PA18 they are split, or at least that's the way they are now.

42911-00 that is the trim indicator fairlead and they are identical if I recall. One piece, first ones were wood. Now they are some type plastic. They are in Univairs price book.

I think thats the big fairleads aceherks. He's looking for the little ones 2 ea.
