I need to increase my endurance and I am hoping such a STC exists
I am told there is a 10 gallon auxiliary wing tank available that is FAA compliant
appreciate possible feedback on both product and from someone who has done it
is it doable or best left alone
regards
Frank from sunny South Africa

Stoddard Tanks have not ben available for many years. Wes Stoddard sold the tank business in 1973 and it has been sold by other owners over the years. Stc paper work and installation drawings are not available to my knowledge. If any body knows who now owns the STC or drawings please speak up. Bill ( Co Owner of Stoddard's since 1973)

Stewartb has the easy answer. I you really want it in the wings put in Atlee dodge tanks 60 gal or Dakota 24 gal tanks. All have STC's. I have a set of Atlee dodge tanks just have to get off my butt and get them in.

I agree with stewartb that a fuel pod would be a good choice. Easier, less work to install. Easy to remove if you don't need it. And in my opinion the airplane will be more stable with the extra weight under the fuselage.

Is there any risk carrying a pod under your belly. I am thinking of both damage to the pod as well as possible fire risk considering the exhaust will be blowing onto it. Is there a STC for the belly pod and who should I contact regards

I made my voyage from AK to Newfoundland over the arctic 10000mls with Atlee Dodge tanks. And when I needed some more range I filled up my colapsible 5 gallon tanks for a range of +11 hours flight.
