TRAPPER CREEK, Alaska (AP) — A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says two small airplanes have collided above Alaska, with one of the aircraft landing safely after the accident and the other crashing to the ground and burning.
The Alaska state patrol says the accident happened Saturday afternoon near Trapper Creek.
The plane that landed safely, a Cessna single-engine, returned to the Anchorage International Airport.
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor told The Associated Press that the plane that crashed is a Cessna 180 that was destroyed by the impact with the ground and subsequent fire. There was no information on the people aboard the aircraft.
Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters says further details will be released Saturday evening

Just saw a picture of the wreckage on TV---I think I saw part of a float by the 180 so both planes were probably on floats.

This is very sad. There is way to much chatter on 22.9 and 22.7. If pilots will back off on reports maybe more will listen. I hear "mouth of the big Sue west bound" really? That covers a huge area. I feel there is to many pilots giving position reports that makes a lot of us turn off the radio.
Three of the four pilots of the recent mid air's flew for a living. Let's all keep are eyes out
