Engine mounted oil filter

This may have been covered before but I can't find the thread. I have a PA-14 with Charlie Center FWF. My 0-360 is an A4M. What is the best engine mounted adapter available that allows the filter to be fairly upright?

Everything I'm aware of puts the filter nearly inverted, with the "bottom" of the filter being in about the 11 o'clock position. The trick to a neat removal is to open the sump drain and stab the filter while hot, and then go off and leave it for a few hours, or overnight (preferred). As far as bang-for-the-buck, Casper Labs is hard to beat.

Also, Casper Labs is the only adapter I'm aware of that uses the Lycoming oil screen gasket for installation. So no special gasket needed if it's removed for maintenance.

The screen on my 0320-B2B does not have a veratherm but it looks like Casper Labs adapter requires one or is there a cap to install in the big hole?

They sell a plug for the vernatherm hole. It might be included, I can't remember. I used it on one plane and not on the other. They also sell a variety of spacers in case your engine mount interferes with the filter. B&C and Casper Labs adapters look almost identical but the spacers are specific to the brand.

Here is one from a Airwolf adapter. If you can use it I will send it.

The gaskets I have gotten from CasperLabs are different than the Lycoming gaskets. I keep two instock for this reason.

Here is a Lycoming, Casper Labs and B&C oil filter adapter gasket.
