I just went down to Kenmore AirHarbor thats about 10 miles from my house. They told me that they will come out with 30 new Edo Floats somewhere around spring or midsummer this year. The price is not set in stone yet, but thought to be about $17,500. I don't know if that includes rigging, forgot to ask. New floats were about $23,000.
Also asked about the gross weight increase STC they are trying to get approved from the FAA. Its being looked at now by the FAA but no further word.

Maybe we can get a group discount on EDO 2000 floats ?

Bill,

I was under the understanding that the gross weight increase EDO was working on was for the 2130 floats. Was it for the 2000?

That would be a good deal, for sure.

Floats

MTV and GroundLoop, I will stop in to Kenmore AirHarbor next monday on my way to work and ask for details. I was told it was a gross weight increase for the EDO 2000 but I will double check to get my facts right. I will let you know right away and about spare parts costs as well. There manufacturing plant I believe is in China now.
Seems like cheaper labor would mean lower prices on parts as well, but with inport duties and shipping ect. maybe not. I will find out.

Floats

Jerry, Im sure looking forward to that trip to Alaska by float trip. Every since you and I first talked about it thats been on my mind. I met a guy with floats on a SuperCub PA-18 and he has been flying out of kenmore AirHarbor Wash. for 20 years and has always been in Saltwater. He brings it back and washes everything off with fresh water and sprays corrosian X inside the floats and has no problems at all. He said there are alot of lakes to go to as well in Wash. and Canada.
One day I will have floats Jerry and were going.

Float operations in the Restricted Category

Does anyone know if operation on floats is legal in the Restricted Category? I have a dual category PA-18A (Agricultural and Pest Control) project that I want to put on EDO 2000's. Max weight shows 2070 for Restricted Category operations, but I only see operations like Ag, Predatory Animal Control, Patrol, Weather Control (cloud seeding) and so forth. No float operations that I can find.

I don't want to start the project and wind up with the 1750 max weight limit.

Any info/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
