EDO 1320 Water Rudder Rigging on J3

Guys,

I am looking for assistance in re-rigging my water rudder on the J3. I have the EDO supplied installation drawing pack, and as you know the EDO method does not appear to be the method employed by most operators. It seems that every J3 on EDO 1320's I see has the water rudder rigged via a transfer bar bolted to the air rudder, rather than off the rudder pedals from the cockpit floor.

The rigging of choice seems to be -Transfer bar bolted to the air rudder with springs attached then 3/32 cable to pulleys on either side of the longerons and then down to the pulleys on the deck and on to turnbuckles attached to the water rudder.

I am seeking the positioning of the pulleys on the longerons. Can anyone supply me with this measurement? I'm probably being too optimistic in looking to see has anyone a 337 drawing set to justify the variation from the EDO drawing pack!

Without the pulleys on the longerons it seems... that the cable can come off the deck pulleys and snag thus jamming the water rudder. In my constant effort to run a safe ship I'd really appreciate the experience anyone else has had. Eddie Peck is next on my list to contact....

Thanks guys

William

I went through this earlier this year and then noticed the pulley tabs welded on a Legend Cub in the hanger next to mine. I figured if it was a good enough location for Legend then it was good enough for me. I can get you the dimensions and some good photos but I will be out of town (NH and beyond) for a few weeks and the computer is staying home. If you can wait, I would be happy to send them to you. You are talking single water rudder I assume.
