If you prefer a dark background to a light one, scroll to the very bottom left corner of the page, and click the style chooser - use "shades of gray". You can always switch back.
I'll have to tweak it a little bit to fix some of those things. Actually, the NEXT (easily upgrade) version of this forum system has a much nicer dark mode.
