Yes, I use a short piece of tubing about the same inside diameter of the bore in the valve body. Remove the handle, the snap ring, hold the tub up to the valve, install the handle with a longer screw and pull the plug into the tube. It catches the springs and balls that come shooting out. You can also wrap a plastic bag around the body and pull the plug/stem out and catch the flying parts in the plastic bag.Can I replace the o rings without taking the valve out?
