Howdy-
I am considering installing a new comm radio in my 12. Have searched threads- have not found anything recent. I have plenty of panel room and am wondering if I should go with the 2.25 models or tray mount. Presently looking at microair vs. Icom A210. Advice? Thanx. TB

Icom A-200 or A-210. Everyone that hears my radio on the other end says it's always very loud and clear and are impressed.

Have to admit the 2.25 radios are nice to save panel space. I think Becker is the best there. I like MGL Avionics stuff too. I wish their radio was a normal 2.25 circle instead of hexagon.

I put a Garmin SL-30 NAV/COM in my PA-12 and absolutely love it. You can monitor a second frequency without having to put in a second radio. If you tune in a VOR it will show the station ID, and it also has enough control I don't need a separate intercom. The ONLY issue I have noticed is when I have 2 people in the back seat and use splitters to connect 2 headsets, one of the headsets doesn't work that well (it the old Sigtronics kids headset) while my wife's Bose works fine. I'm not sure this is the radio but figured I'd at least pass that on. I have tried a few things to try to make this work better but it's really not that big of an issue overall.

Bugs the MGL is round with the square face I have a SL40 in my cub ps 1200 intercom the MGL V10 out performs both in my Luscombe plus the MGL will load frequencys from my 496 GPS best bang for the buck mikeo

Some of them have the NOAA weather band which is very handy somedays.

Never knew it existed until you posted that link. I have the Becker 4201 in the -12 and like it just fine. It does everything I want a radio to do and does it well.

Interesting no one seems to advocate the Garmin 155 or 250. Besides space is there another reason?
