Cliff dows cabin project in McCarthy Alaska

Last summer my son & I flew our supercub all over Alaska & made amazing new friends all over.
I turned 60 in March & decided it’s time for major life changes. The daily rat race just isn’t doing it for me these days.

I bought land in McCarthy Alaska & drove up this summer to build a cabin. 20 x 20 sounded like something I could do myself. Well then the second floor got huge. 2 x 8 walls, 10 ft first floor ceiling, Anderson 400 series windows all top notch. I’ve posted my adventure all on Facebook if you are there send me a friend request.

The challenges of getting this ready for winter are most exciting.

If you know of anyone looking for a life changing adventure please send them my way. I’ve pretty much built this entire cabin myself so far I’m getting burned out!

Travis got his pilots license in Alaska this summer that was excitjng

No & the drive one way for supplies is 7 hours. I’m on load 10 now.

Awesome! Love McCarthy - but last time I was there we had to pull the hanging cart across the river by hand to get into town - that was a long ago. I am for sure flying in there when this Super Cub I am building gets done (hopefully by next summer). Looks like a great adventure.
