caribou hunt

i'd be flying in from lower 48 so don't really have a preference, i used to keep a plane at kzb myself but that was 25 or so years ago, mainly looking for a place to go with my 25 year old son

https://www.nicksairservice.com/ Nick out of Birchwood would be great. Just not a lot of Caribou close the last few years. I went North of the Brooks in September last year to find mine. Sue at Kavic camp has a man camp and Caribou walk by every year. Might want to see who is working out of Happy Vally this year.

The best option in my opinion for your situation is to fly commercial into Fairbanks, rent a vehicle, get the last minute supplies you need (stove fuel, etc.) and drive north to Happy Valley. Can get chartered from there (Arrowhead Outfitters, Brooks Air as examples) or Coyote Air out of Coldfoot if the charters out of Happy Valley are booked. Rental companies can be weird about the haul road and you're also paying for the car all the days you're in the field as well unfortunately. Wrights out of Fairbanks can fly you north too. Could also coordinate with the transporter and fly into Deadhorse with them providing the stove fuel as you can't fly commercially with it. Much more info and options but that's a few.
