Building a 4 Seat (4S) Javron Cub

Oh sad, not the update I was hoping to see... Any further details about the hurdles that will be required to make this 4S fly? I have been patiently waiting in the queue with a deposit for this kit to complete and deliver via Javron assuming the/this prototype flew. Is there another aircraft out there under construction that somebody would be willing to update the thread with? My understanding was that there were 3-4 kits made so far, and I was in the +5 slot, but not in a rush as early tweaks were incorporated.
I was promised that my kit was next, so we might have to share. 🤣

I assumed this was the same fuselage that appeared at some shows and that the testing and configuring of the floor, seats, W/B, controls etc., was going to end up in the final version. Perhaps I am wrong. Kind of a bummer that the first build is getting scrapped, and parts kept for a two place (?). I don't want to read between the lines, but other threads about four place, and obviously the Airframes 4 place frame make it seem like this is still a doable project. Really enjoy Bill's thorough and intelligent posts and notes on the build. It even looked like everything was ready to cover and fly soon. Boo.

It’s my understanding that this is the same fuselage and wings that were at Oshkosh in 2022. I could not make it to WI, but did visit Javron a couple weeks later and got to crawl all over it. The lead time was supposed to be 12 months on a kit with the plan that number 1 would be flying by Oshkosh 2023. That timeline would’ve given me the chance to see one flying before I took delivery and decided on a few options, but it is what it is. I’d much rather wait a little longer and have it right than to have a project drag on for years because of mistakes that weren’t caught in time, but we eventually need to get rolling on this bird before I age out. 🤣 Hopefully the windscreen mold is done soon so that we can see a complete 4 place in the air. I’m going to remain optimistic and avoid reading between the lines for a few more months. 🍻

Airframe number 2 is slowly progressing.
I put my deposit down 5 years ago this coming July.
I finally got tired of waiting two years ago and went to Brainerd and picked it up. I knew the "kit" was incomplete, but that was fine with me.
Here it is last February right after I finished the boot cowl and cowling. I used Jay's chin scoop and nose bowl. Oratex aft interior panels. Rupert exhaust.

I just finished the panel/electrical install (still need to tidy up a few wires). That, by far, has taken the most amount of time.
Trig radio and transponder. Garmin G5 to drive the 507/servos.
The 360 Avionics EMS is a new product. It looks a little goofy in the photo, still has the protective plastic on the screen. I liked the form factor and it is a bit cheaper than the others out there. Vlad has a full line of flight instruments, EFIS, EMS etc. www.360avionics.com
It will have an Aera 760 up on the glare shield, under the V brace.

Now I am working on firewall forward. Oil and fuel lines, wire the P mags, etc. All straight forward stuff, should not take much time.
I am hoping to start covering in a few weeks.
I am waiting on new Oratex glue. If you are considering Oratex, do not order the glue until you absolutely need it. It has a short shelf life.
While my glue looks OK and passed the test strip pull standard, the fabric did pull away from the glue, as opposed to separating the fabric.

Supercub.org and Vansairforce.net (avionics and wiring mostly) have been invaluable.
