Borer Prop

I'm considering buying a new, never used, Borer Prop from an individual. It is an 82/44. It has an 8130 tag dated Sep. 23, 2015.
Would I need a separate STC to install on my Super Cub with O-320/160HP?

What would it cost if I wanted to re-pitch it to a 43 or 42?

Thanks,

Gary

Thee are various was to authorize the 160 upgrade so check your records as the Cub Crafters 160 STC includes the prop so if you have that one from from the engine conversion you're set...

Thanks,
This is a project I recently acquired. Previous owner had Steve Pierce rebuild the fuselage and built new wings. Has a narrow deck O-320/150HP that I plan to have Lycon rebuild into 160HP plus or change to a wide deck. I will check to see what Lycon is using and if the STC includes the prop.

Also, not a bad idea to have the prop checked out by a prop shop to check the pitch on both blades as well as balance.

The CC STC addresses the engine upgrade on the frame rather than the engine mod itself.

Yes you need two STC's one to change the engine to 160hp (Lycon STC) and the CC STC to install said engine on your airframe. The CC STC will allow you to use the Borer prop.

Changing the engine from 150 to 160 hp is a minor alteration since they are both on the same TC. Just use the Lycoming parts manual. Lycon will know this. An STC will be required to install the "new" engine in the airframe since a 160 is not approved on the PA-18 TC.
