Well some of you know that Loni and Me (Greg) have been working on a video of off airport landings for sometime now. It is finally finished and availiable at Alaskan Bushwheels Inc. right now (1-800-442-8473 not availiable to order online at Alaskan Bushwheel Inc. you will have to call)! It will also be availiable in the next week or so on Supercub.org on-line store. If you have an interest in landing off airport now is your chance to see some interesting shots (Landing on big rock, using water, landing in a turn, one way, etc.). The DVD is around 50 minutes long and has Loni flying his 160 hp Supercub on 31" BW and me flying my experimental Maule (A.K.A. Bushwacker) on 35" BW. It was professionally edited and includes a commentary track that can be turned on or off. We hope you enjoy Volume 1.

ANYWAY.... ABOUT THE VIDEO,

It is great, I have sold 15 or 20 already. Can't wait for volume 2!!

Price

Available in DVD only @ $29.95 plus $5.00 S/H or so left that up to whoever is selling them. Learning techniques is great but there is no substitute for practice (doing it and learning maybe what works for you). This DVD is for entertainment and not meant to be anything else although some may pick up something. Don't forget to read the disclaimer at the beginning. Enjoy!

Hey Greg,

No intentions here about tryin' to use your DVD as an instructional video, it'll be purely for entertainment. Who am I kiddin', I can't help but analyze every thing I see in print or video to try to learn something new. You wouldn't believe all the crazy things I learned from watching those Warren Miller ski videos.

Me too! If we can't get a free DVD with the purchase of a set of BW, can we get a free set of BW with the purchase of the DVD? :drinking:

DVD Big Rocks and Long Props

I bought the DVD from Greg. I bought five and ordered ten more the price of 29.95 is twenty dollars less than it should be but Greg said he wanted it to be affordable for everyone .Point well taken. The DVD is a masterpiece of high quality flying and technique and breath taking to watch.Buy one or two or three your friends will enjoy the DVD you bought for them. But if you don't have any friends buy one for yourself.Great DVD Greg be proud.

This is all about showing off. Sure is fun and entertaining. Training you might recieve is about wrecking your airplane. I do quite alot of off airport stuff in places I have not been previously on the ground. I know that one of these days I'm going to be suprised and then there is going to be some bent metal... Be ready to accept that when it happens. Your insurance company will probably tell you "tuff".

I just want to add here that there is ABSOLUTELY no sales pitch in this video about Bushwheels.

While watching the video, you will the see the ADVANTAGE that Bushwheels have, but there is no “sales pitch” to buy them.

Watch the video, the things just work and that’s all there is to it. They just sell themselves; you’ll see what I mean.

No illusions here, this is short field flying at its best. Both these gentleman have worked very hard to perfect their brand of river flying and it is truly impressive to watch, the DVD is worth every penny.

I agree, no sales pitch for the Bushwheels but they obviously make this possible. Watch the bloopers, no hidin the fact this is edgy flying and they tell you right up front, don't go out and do it.

If you are interested in this type flying call Loni and let him teach you the skills.

Well done Greg and Loni

Back ground info

I know some will think this is about showing off. I got the idea for a video after being at the Alaskan Airmen's Show this year. I had a booth to see what interest there would be in extended gear for Maule and 35" tires. I made a video of me screwing around with the Gear & Tires. I had people stacked up in the booth for 2 days watching the unedited footage that Loni shot of me. I had all kinds of comments from people, 99% of them loved what they saw and would stand there and watch it multiple times then bring family or friends back to show them. I said to Loni when I got back I could have been selling video's and that is how this came about. Loni has been doing off airport stuff for more then 10 years, right now he is working for an outfitter hauling guides and hunters into remote places only a Supercub type aircraft can land. I started getting into it around 1998, I have learned a great deal from Loni in that time, not so much from teaching but from following and doing. Loni has never said I don't think you should land here he has left that up to me, and that is how you learn what you can do and what you cannot do. It is always easier to follow someone then pioneer a new spot on your own. It has just been in the last 2 years that I have been pioneering new difficult spots myself. I go out and do this by myself when no one is watching, I like the challenge. I also like what it has done for my flying, I know what I can do safely with my airplane and I can take my Wife and Daughter for a week to a place that most people would never expect to see an airplane. We can get away from the campers and can be alone even down here in the lower 48.
