I want to put a firman pod on my 12. I just don't like the approved airglass pods the door is to small they are heavier. The 12 and 18 airglass pod are same they just put a fiberglass flange on them so they fit the 12 better. In my pursuit of a field approval I have been told that this cannot be approved because PA-12 does not have same supporting structure as PA-18. Does anybody have opinion on this? I am under impression that bottom fuselage is pretty much the same PA 12/18. Does anybody have some drawing I could compare the 2?? or am I way of base. Second issue, They say there is potential for control jamming if I hit something hard enough to ram belly pod into bottom of fuselage. This point is hard to argue!! I think at that point my landing gear would be gone prop would be bent I would have many other issues to deal with. I am Just trying to get my facts straight before I pursue this further. Thanks for any help
