Barn Finds

Not barn finds but true: I had a chance to buy a P51 Mustang and spare pickled engine for $8,000 in the early 60s and went with the plane I could afford, a Cessna 180 for $9,000.

Another time, at Sept Isles, Quebec, I could have bought a DH Dragon Rapide for $3,000. Six kids came first. I had thought of sending the P51 home to the farm as my pension plan. Think what both would be worth now!

Is it ME or does anybody else think that prop is way long for what could be no bigger than an O-200 engine.....Maybe it just LOOKS bigger than it is....

Foreshortening. "In a photograph of a recumbent figure, for instance, those parts of it, such as the feet, that are nearest the lens will seem unnaturally large, those at a distance, such as the head, unnaturally small."
