Aqua Floats

Anyone here an expert on Aqua floats? The old 2425's on the Stinson are getting tired. I saw a nice set of 2400 Aqua's for sale, and know some have been approved on Stinson's. I looked at the Aqua's and notice no fluted bottoms, and they were a lot flatter on the bottom than Edo's. My question is has anyone flown both Aqua's and Edo's on the same type of plane, and what is the handling performance differences? The different shape on the bottom and in the step area has to have an effect.

Aqua floats

Years ago I met two brothers from Cleveland - no this isn't a limerick. One had a PA18 on EDO 2000s, the other a PA18 on Aquas. They told me, overall, the EDOs performed better, but the Cub with the Aquas was faster. Among the differences, I noticed, the struts on the Aquas were shorter. (Less clearance for the prop.) Not sure this will be very helpful, but there you have it.
