any pa18-95 with thrustline mod

if there's any body out there with the thrustline mod on their pa18-95 cub that can give me thumbs up/down? did you have to modify or redo your cowling to make it work?

Not a PA-18 but 0-200 Legend.Yes it works and you will have to modify the lower cowling.

I consulted with Mark before I did the mod on my airplane.

It was worth 4mph in cruise and better handling all around.

I have talked to Mark about it but have not tried it yet. I figure you will have to extend the bottom rails like the Lycoming but it looks like to me everything else will still fit.

In my case the manufacturer has the ability to approve mods.Legend has worked with me on approving props,tires,safety cables.They will not approve anything without doing their own testing but they are open minded about it.

Thrust Line in a PA-18-95

I put Mark's Thrust Line in our PA-18/95 this past year and really like the mod. Not only did it improve the performance, it gave us more room in the engine compartment. I also move the battery, which had been moved to the fire wall, to under the Pilot's seat. Small GEL cell, with Sky Tech starter. I didn't have to modify the cowling as it had a overlap and now only a small gap.

Dano of Big Lake did the mod, with the STC. It seemed to give the same results that have been posted in the earlier discussion on other PA-18s. Yes I am glad we did the mod, and do give it a thumbs UP. . We fly the cub on Wheels, Floats (1400) and Skis.
