I was wondering if i could find the history of my aircraft, its a pa18a-150 serial # 18-4944 .

I have been on tc site but that said im more interested by its history in usa my father imported this aircraft in 1969 ,the thing i know it was red with white stripe and it was used as a crop duster in idao or something like that

Your serial number is close to mine. 18-4996. I know my airplane's history. Originally purchased by Dorothy Magoffin in Fairbanks.

Clyde can send you a copy of the original build sheet. Cool stuff. Can't remember the charge but it's not much.

Nice its getting better the only thing i have is the serial # if i was able to get its original n # i would be happy that would help a lot in tracking it down , i will give Clyde a call for the build sheet.

I haven't tried this, but apparently Transport Canada used to keep a file for each aircraft imported, it may have all the is documents in it. You could try track that file down? I got Clyde's build sheet but it didn't tell me anything I didn't know already. But my logbooks were complete from day one. You can also buy a cd from the FAA, mine had copies of all the 337's previously submitted. Then search the NTSB database for accident history. And maybe a title search agency will find some ownership history? Don

Nice,
you got some history there.

Yes I do. I took my books over to FSDO one day and they were looking at them and saying things like, "This is the Who's Who of Alaska Aviation.". Mr. Hutchinson worked for the Magoffins and flew the plane up from the factory. Jess Bachner was one of their mechanics and he worked on the plane a bunch. By chance I met Jess Bachner before I became a pilot. He was a really cool guy. I have some great stories about Jess. I feel honored to own and fly the plane today. I am only the fifth owner of the plane.

Not all the records are in the FAA electronic database. A few years ago I was wondering what happened to my first airplane. It's N number was issued to another aircraft and it's serial number came up no record. I called the registration division and spoke to a very nice lady who informed me my old Aeronca had been destroyed in a hangar fire and deregistered. It's records only existed on paper as it was deregistered before the electronic database came into being. For a nominal fee I purchased paper copies of the record for a keepsake. Even though you are in Canada, I'm sure you could do the same. jrh
