Ailerons and flaps/anybody figured out what they are for yet?

Leading edge of the flaps, as far forward as able without having them contact the flap cove when flaps retracted.

I had looked at putting them on the cove. I had considered ways to get them further forward on the flap. I did not tuft, it was all seat of the pants.

Before I had tried many variations, Jerry Burr informed me that he had found no improvements either. I let it drop there and began thinking about other ways to get better flap performance.
 
Interesting. When I get my Cub flying I think that I shall tuft test the flaps just to see what it looks like. My flaps extend almost as far as the lift strut attachment. Of course these being so long they will be totally different than the stock length. We'll see.
