Aeronca wooden wings

Hi to all,

I just found this forum, hoping to find some help in building Aeronca all-wood wings that will be fitted on my Volmer amphibian.

The Volmer VJ-22 plan is mostly about the fuselage and shows very little information about the wings. Most of the Volmer guys buy Aeronca or Citabria wings for their aircraft, but I decided to build mine.

Does anyone here has some experience in scratch-building or rebuilding that type of wings? Any pictures or photos would be of great help.

I am also highly considering 1/16 ply leading edges, which seem to attach better than the .020 aluminum my plan are suggesting.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend googling National Aeronca assoc. and you will find a lot of help. Pictures and all.

Glenn Miller is the Aeronca guru. Check out the website Fearless Aeronca Aviators. I think it is a lot like this site. You can probably find Glenn somewhere on that site.
