As many may know, our 1940 J3 was taken out by an F3 tornado May 24th. two days before OK18. The decision was made to replace the J3 with a Super Cub and the hunt began. I want to thank many of you who helped with the process. Our great friend Bill Rusk took the reins and made many calls to help us find the "one". Steve Pierce was also helping out with his vast knowledge of Cubs and all that "stuff" that goes into the logbooks. Since he will be doing our maintenance I guess he wanted it right.

Less than 3 months later we have a new Plane to fly. Bill Tracy helped out with finding a good mechanic for pre-buy, then volunteered to fly it from New Jersey to Cleveland. Pretty amazing! Greg and I took it to Poplar Grove the next day and Bill Rusk and Jim Preiss added 31's. Bill spent the next day "cleaning" up the panel and adding his touch. (he worked non stop). We had some time for Bill's short field training and tips program and brought it home to Oklahoma the next day. We flew it about 23 hours in 4 days and have flown it almost everyday since. What a blast! Our thanks go out to all that helped out including those that gave us lifts at OK18. (Brandon, Jerry, Mike). Hope to see you in East Tn.

It is really wonderful to have great friends in your life like Greg and Dave. It was my pleasure to help them, and fun to see them get excited about owning and flying a Supercub. Here is a picture of Dave (on the left) and Greg taken just before they left my house to fly their new baby home to Oklahoma.

Great friends and Great times. Furthermore, Jim Preise, who lives in my neighborhood and helped with my Smithcub build, just purchased a J-3. I flew it yesterday and it is just fantastic. Jim has it rigged perfect. Flies great.

Congratulations, David and Greg! Way to take lemons and make lemonade! I heard that you might be able to find a cub, and am really glad to hear that this has happened!

Congrats to David & Greg, things always seem to work out for the best. Sounds like the hanger is almost fixed and will be better than new.
