It took me way too long but 39Y is back in the air. She is a 1971 PA18-150 that had never been apart. She weighed in at 1159 lbs. with an empty weight CG of 12.02". She has a LyCon built 160 hp Lycoming and Borer prop, B&C starter and alternator, Sutton exhaust, oil filter adapter, Steve's gascolator, Thrustline Mod., titanium firewall with custom boot cowl, Cub Crafters fuel system and extended baggage, Dakota Cub HD brake cylinders w/large capacity reservoirs, fuel valve, site gauges, trim crank, stabilizer jackscrew and yoke, under rear seat storage box and adjustable rear seat cross tube and ball bearing aileron pulleys, custom built interior panels and headliner with Staoddard's map pocket, Wipair 2000 lb. gross weight increase, 31" Alaskan Bushwheels and Baby Bushweel tail wheel, Atlee Dodge 3" extended gear and safety cables, AOSS landing gear shock struts, Dan's under seat battery mod., Performance Airmotive baggage door opening with custom built door, Atlee Dodge "X" brace, seat belt attach, removable rear seat cross bar, tie down fitting, long step on the right, fueling step on the left, cargo net with tie downs to the floor and rear spar carry thru, rear stick cover, windshield defroster and rear fuselage metal belly kit, Floats Alaska HID landing/taxi light, Whelen LED wing tip nav lights w/strobes and A500 combination nav/strobe tail light, ACK 406 ELT coupled to the Garmin 496 GPS, Becker 6201 Com and 4401 transponder with Sigtronics SCI-S4 intercom, Electronics International tach, oil pressure/temp, and amp/volt meter, CO Guardian 452 carbon monoxide detector, Univair butt ribs, leading edge skins, lift struts and other misc bits and pieces, Oregona Aero seats, Micro Aerodynamics VGs, all covered in Poly-Fiber with Ranthane top coat. Ezell Aviation did the blue and gold stripping. She flew great on the first flight, hands off with half a ball out that one tweak of the fin took care of. Thanks to many people for help and encouragement. This has been a fun project. Here is a photo album of the rebuild. https://plus.google.com/photos/114718884762813339135/albums/5526180021206754177?banner=pwa

I wish I were on my way to New Holstein but alas, I have to get back to work. This plane is fantastic to fly. We added everything but the kitchen sink! On my way back to Florida then hope to get some time off later and take it up to my place in Minnesota. Steve was telling me about all the folks who have given some great advice and help with this project. I just want to add my thanks to all of you as well!!

Wow Steve. That is just fantastic. Very very nice. You do awesome work. Love the panel. Excellent weight too. Congratulations and well done.

I saw 39Y this past Tuesday when I stopped in Graham for an hour while enroute to Austin. Really nice, many custom features... The panel is great and will be the base for what Steve does on mine and I really like the tight fit interior panels to the floor boards... far less potential for Houdini screws and pins etc.
