got a set of 35'' tires and wheels to go on my exp., only problem is my ak. airframe gear has 1 1/4'' axle, and ak.bw's have 1 1/2'' bearings.anyone have suggestions which option would be the best solution, buy ak bw axle adapter kit with their bearings, or the old way of just sleeving the axle with 4130 tubeing??

any suggestion appreciated!!

Just sleeve it or contact some one like Bearing Engineering and they can find you bearings that will match up.

Web

You may also need to change out brake disc. designed for the thinner 1.25 style calipers 30-60A The 1.5 in wheels come set up with the thicker brake disc for the 30-52N caliper.

thanks for ya''lls input, got the adapter kit & bearings from ak. bush wheels (ouch),will see about brakes when i get that far!!!don't seem to be anything simple anymore, hope it will be worth it!!!

WHAT DO YA MEAN DOES IT HELP,DO YA THINK I SPENT $4000.00 + AND IT DON'T HELP!!

thanks

I take it you bought them used? If you buy new they will provide you the correct bearings and brake disc for your axle size. SkwentnaMan has the right info. Maybe someone we know at AK Bushwheel/Airframes?

steve,
traded my 31''s for the 35's, he's going to a 180 h.p. and is having wt. issues, heck you know i can't afford a new set! heck with a new catto prop and a earth-x battery i was getting too light!!!
