1955 Cessna 180 Engine Mount Change

I have a 1955 180 with the PPonk O-470-50 motor with dual exhaust hanging on the original J mount. I am looking for anyone that has exchanged the J engine mount for the 185 floatplane mount PN 0751003-31 (has the tip out mount brackets on the lower firewall attach points). I have seen this engine mount combination on a 1955 with dual exhaust so I know it will work. My question is what brackets are used on the lower attach points? The "Lug-Engine Mount" PN 0751006-2 called out in the 185 parts manual is to short to fit through the aluminum bushing that go through the firewall. I have already contacted Acorn Welding and Seaplanes West and they have been very helpful but unable to help me. Thank you for any help.

What case was used on your Ponk engine? The A & J case uses a different "mount leg bracket" (p/n 534470) to attach to the engine mount than does the K engine (p/n 538518 ). My 53 model was upgraded from an A to a K back in 1993, and the earlier mount legs had to be installed on the K engine in order to use the early p/n 0751000 A & J mount.
This isn't what you asked about, but it might be something you need to address.
