I’m struggling to get clarity on Continental engine component part numbers. I currently have two old project engines that are candidates for an experimental I will be building later this year. The engines in question are a Continental C-85-12 and an O-200-A.
Looking at the official parts list for the crank and camshafts for these two engines, and they don’t match the actual parts in my engines. examples:
part name…………….…….parts list number………my actual part
crankshaft 0-200-A…….530182 std ……………..530548
camshaft C-85. …………..40584 (iron) ………………242231
………….O-200-A……………628421(forged steel)….626608
there are others too, for example, in the parts list, the lifter bodies for the 0-200-A reference three camshafts they are compatible with, none of which are shown in the parts list.
Im used to old outdated parts lists, but this is really a hard one to navigate. i am reasonably sure my actual parts are right for the engine but i can’t find any of those parts in the listing.
anyone have any good sources for good cross reference part numbers for small Continentals? i’ve checked in the back of the book for undersized, service parts, etc, and no luck
thanks
