How much of a job is it to put Whip amphibs on a cub that has never had amphibs before?

I am considering putting a set of used Whip amphibs on my 18. How much of a job is it to plumb my cub with all the pumps and brakes and electrical to accept the Whip 2100 amphibs? I have weld on float fittings now and seaplane lifting hooks but that is it.

I helped my friend Eric do this. It took 6 days, 12 hours a day for us to do it. That translates to 144 man hours. It is a pretty big job but it was worth it. He has flown it to Alaska, the UP of Michigan, Maine etc.

And, do absolutely as much of the installation of systems BEFORE you hang the plane on the floats. Once it's on floats, working on it becomes an aerobic exercise.

It is a bigger job than it probably appears. Study all the required installations carefully and consider how you'll route all the required plumbing/wiring, etc.

I spose it would of been a piece of cake to do when I had the plane completely rebuilt?

Maybe not a piece of cake but certainly a donut. Possibly a cinnamon roll.
