HIRING: A&P Mechanic for Alaskan Wilderness Adventure Lodge
Ultima Thule Lodge is a paradise that lies deep in the Alaskan wilderness. The lodge is surrounded by Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, part of the largest protected landmass on earth and sits on the mighty Chitina river. You’ll discover a lodge steeped in comfort and centered on adventure. Immersed in nature and a hundred miles from paved roads, a bush-plane is the only way to arrive.
As such, we are hiring a licensed A&P Mechanic, to work with our Director of Maintenance, performing annual inspections,100-hour inspections, and regular maintenance on our fleet of aircraft including PA-18 Supercubs, Cessna 185, and a Turbine Otter. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, organized, and willing to adapt. The ideal candidate would have experience and is able to take the initiative in daily responsibilities and work independently. Professionalism as well as the ability to work closely with others is essential. Although this position will be focused on aircraft maintenance, everyone on the staff chips in as needed to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.
Employment can be customized and has some flexibility with scheduling. Ideally, it would be a full-time position for 10 months/year, from January through October. However, we are also open to discussing creative scheduling such as 1 week/month. Most of the time will be at the hangar, located in McCarthy, AK with time spent at the lodge, which is 30 air miles away.
