They were used to tow logs to the East outlet where they were sluiced downstream to the mills. I can remember seeing one of the last of these tows.

The Seaplane Pilots Assoc held a breakfast on the Kataden during the Greenville Seaplane fly-in this year. Neat to wander around the boat and see all the history.
