Greetings, folks, we are getting ready for the annual New Holstein Airport Day, Sunday, July 24, 2022 and a huge part of that is the Young Eagles Rally that is held on that morning.
We will need many qualified aviators and ground crew to make this another successful event! We greatly appreciate the support we can give to EAA Chapter 1622, who will officially host the event! Last year we gave over 110 kids Young Eagle flights and need to be prepared to do so again! Information for signing up to help will be provided here and hopefully on the soon-to-be-launched New Holstein Super Cub Flyin website.
Pilots, please make sure you have your Youth Protection Certificates updated, so that you can give rides!
Those of you who were kind enough to provide YE flights may recall that the City of New Holstein provided vouchers worth $25 for purchase of breakfast and lunch at New Holstein Airport Day. This year we are planning to provide some reimbursement for the fuel you use in conjunction with the YE flights, as well. That amount remains to be determined, but I'll post that here and hopefully on our Friends of the New Holstein Airport website...which will be launched very soon!
Please note that we have made a few changes for this year's YE Rally...
1. We will not start the mandatory pilot briefing until 8:00 a.m., giving you 30 minutes to enjoy the delightful, nutritious breakfast that is provided by the City of New Holstein.
2. The YE Rally will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 12:00 a.m. We are aware that the proverbial "bus" full of kids show up at 11:00 a.m., likely after church, and it puts a stressor on those of us who organize or fly in the STOL. We will ask that signups end at noon, with all rides ending at 12:30 p.m.
