Bob was a great friend with a larger than life personality. He will not only be missed by me but all those who were blessed to know the infamous “Island Bob”

Glenn,
This is heartbreaking news. I always looked forward to my trips "up North" because it meant we could all sit around and be entertained by Bob. He had a "no holds barred" view of life. He will be missed.

Did a slow pass over the island runway on Sunday morning, I'll now always think of it as our Good Bye. May God Bless.

Another great that our small community has been blessed with. He was certainly held in very high esteem by all who met him. Godspeed West.

Fun times for a stop at Island Bob's for other destinations in New England. So glad I've met and knew him if only briefly. RIP
Jim

If someone wants to attend the service that hasn’t gotten the info, it’s this Friday, 9:30am sharp, at the VA Cemetery in Stillwater NY.

How sad. My wife and I were married on The Island thanks to the graciousness of Bob and Pat. We were planning a June visit.
His passing is a profound loss to our community. He will be sorely missed.
Godspeed Island Bob, RIP

Condolences, and such sad news!

I only got to meet him the one time for lunch during the WAD, yet I can easily picture the 'larger than life' man. Just looking in his hangar told me all I needed to know about him.

He will be missed, and our community will feel the loss.

Planes land in National Cemetery to honor Island Bob.

Good job Peter

Bob would have been impressed. Family, Friends, Airplanes, Harleys, Hot Rods and some pretty girls.

Just as the service ended our friend Tyson who keeps his L4 in Bob's hangar did a east to west low pass while wearing Bob's HUGE sunglasses and his flight jacket.
