    PA-18 Rudder Horn ID

Can anyone confirm if this would be the correct piece? I have found many of Univair's parts seem to fit everything ever made.

Just remember you will have to get it drilled (by a shop or you) for the two holes that are in the original one. I'm getting mine done this summer come annual.

A used one will not work. The rudder is custom drilled to the steering arm. Those holes get wallowed out and the arm moves inside the rudder. Dakota Cub has a machined steering arm that fits better than the cast one that Univair sells.

I guess that is what I am trying to solve for - the holes for the tailwheel springs are kind of wallowed out.

I remove the rudder, square everything up on a table and carefully back drill from each side for the two 3/16" bolts that hold the steering arm to the rudder.

It seems to be a common theme with Piper... just got a new control stick from Univair and you guessed it, no holes in it!
