    Never enough light..........

......how many times have we heard that?
I bought two of these lights......one for my garage and one for hangar lean to.

    https://www.menards.com/main/electri...76792&ipos=281

Got another one and made an extendable mount for it with stuff I had around the hangar.
At 20,000 lumens you need eclipse glasses to look at it, but boy does it work......and the 4 separate lights can be turned in any direction.

Just today I finished removing 12 8 foot florescent fixtures in the hangar and installing 6 17000 lumen and 6 6000 lumen lights. Now that it is dark out I just went out there to see how good it is compared to the 8 footers. It is nice and bright. Actually about right for me. I always really liked the 8 foot double units because I had enough light and very little shadowing. Now the color temp is higher which I don't like as well and overall it is a bit shadowy but acceptable. It still have some 8 foot units that I am not going to replace yet that are on separate switches over the mill and lathe and a few other special areas. But it can see the detail I need to in all areas. The hangar is 60x40ft These are supposed to be more efficient, not sure if they really are yet.

I swapped my T5 fluorescents for plug and play LEDs. No ballast work. Night and day difference in light and even better in energy consumption (which Wifey tracks). Best hangar money I’ve spent yet.

I’ve done tons of fluorescent/led swaps in the last few years. It is worth the extra few minutes to cut out the ballast especially if the fixtures are old. They will still heat up and occasionally burn even with led bulbs (experienced this twice).

I just did my new to me hangar which had 8’ tubes - be sure to check which socket type you have on eight footers as there are several styles. Fortunately we have a man lift at the airport which made this a much easier job. I really try to stay off ladders…

All kinds of cool led lights nowadays. In my out buildings I installed the 4 wing lights like you posted but with a motion sensor, now when I walk in a light comes on. One of the handiest light is this folding led shop light from Lowes. Magnetic base, rechargeable and compact. I bought 10 of them for Christmas presents.

I just recieved 15 100w highbay LED lights for the new hangar. Got one hanging in the old hangar and you don't look up at it without seeing spots for a while.

Speaking of led lights , we really like our super lightweight rechargeable spotlight we got a few months ago. Has a work light feature I use all the time as well.

And... with all the various trick little LED lights I have in all the vehicles and around the place, it almost irritated me when I first discovered the flashlight function on my cellphone!

If you're talking about the little round "UFO" lights...
    I removed the 5 take-forever-to-come-on, power-guzzling hallide (?) lights in my 50x50 hangar,
    and installed those. They're great!
Plus I have three 4-foot LED shoplights mounted to the walls above workbenches,
and another one wired to a switch by the front door so I can see on my way to unlatch the doors,
or on the way to the overhead light switch which for some reason was installed in the back of the hangar.
