Now let’s get some snow. Put my 600:6’s on for my wheel skis so I’m ready.
Jim
Looking forward to this winter, I have a set of 1850’s for my Champ. This will be my first time on ski’s, so bring on the snow!

Well it's January 3rd and the weather outlook over the next 10 days calls for temps favorable for making an inch of ice on average daily. With little to no snow forecast we could be on ice next week here in Vermont. How's it looking in the Dacks?

Then he made the earth round... and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
Tom, never mind snow, you have to get to Minnesota to bring back that Maule
LOL, going to wait until the WX warms up from -21 F , not real good Maule wx, been there.
Glenn
is Marty’s J3 in that hangar?

Thanks Glenn. I see Marty once in a while when he turns up at HWV.
Pretty location. We sold our place in Worcester/Westville a few years ago. I miss it sometimes, but not the issues of maintaining two houses! For a while I kept an beater car at Oneonta and would commute with my Comanche. I would use that as a cross country for my instrument students and buy them lunch at Brooks Barbecue.
Rich
Rich.
See you at Twitchell weather providing.
Jim
Hey Glen, is there any snow or bare ice, thinking of coming in the Champ on wheels. Still haven’t been able to fly it since I hooked up the heat. So depending how that goes in flight.

Update. Got a report from Twitchell Lake. 6 to 8" of solid ice with 5" of fluffy snow on top. Tires will be fine for those of you without skis. Looking to start at noon. Some are meeting up at Speculator around 9:30 for breakfast. 7" at Speculator.
Twitchell at 11:50. No signs of life. Went back home and ate at McDs. Beautiful day for flying anyway. Must have been to early.

And here I sit looking across the RWY at my Champ kicking myself for not at least trying to warm it up and fly.

Which end and what time did you guys get there?
Jim
Dave's cub was halfway down the lake. He had a smokey fire going and stood out on the ice and saw you land and takeoff. We got there around 12:15. Sorry we missed you

Damn, I always seem to miss seeing these by like a day or two. Oh well not like I have skis and snows too deep for me anyway, lol.

Got off the ground a little too late you catch you guys! We flew over around 2:15 but it looked like everyone was heading to their planes.
When I was much younger, I got so I could re-do the recoil starters on those single cyl. Rotax's in my sleep. They were steady work. LOL
