That's the first sign of Global warming. Oh wait, spring isn't until next week.
If you want an approved ski then what is out there for a wheel penatration ski besides Trick air?
Glenn
The only ones I am aware of are the Trick Airs, besides the Aero Ski R2800 mechanical retracts. Downside is you have to run small tires with those and I've heard their performance isn't great but that's just what I have heard.
Check in with that Outlaw Robbie Guhr, I'm sure he knows exactly what you should run, and what perhaps isn't technically allowed, should someone see you, deep in the Maine woods.:lol:
I appreciate the info, Gents. Looks like I may be out here for a few years at least so probably worth it to get the plane on skis. Anyone have contact info for Robbie Guhr, or his username on here? And Jim, good to hear on the trick airs, your based out of Rochester? The Alpine 3000s for the Maule require 8.50s so that helps me out since that's what I am already running. Did you have to weld brackets on, and if so, who did it for you?
Finally took my skis off this morning. 600-6 tires, amazing that it gets off the ground about 75' shorter without the added weight of the 31s
An interesting counterpoint to the idea that big tires give a shorter takeoff roll because of increased available angle of attack. May be interesting to evaluate under more tightly controlled test conditions.
