Hello all, I’ve been away for awhile and currently transitioning the lower 48, today leaving Valentine NB, headed SE , final at Umatilla where my new hangar awaits my arrival at Crescent Lake, my new to me winter home. Just a shout out to all and so my Alaska buddies see where I’m going. See ya!

Good to see you're heading south with the geese. Floatpond here is still 80% ice free.

And here they are in Nebraska,
like thinking, it’s gonna be weird not running skis this winter……..NAW! Fishin off the floats! Yes!

You’ll enjoy Crescent Lake and it’s sister Dead Lake. Disston, Woodruff and Diaz are accessible as well. Silver Glen Springs on the west side of Lake George is a wonderful place to float among the manatees. Many other great places to fly floats in the area. The boat ramp at the Palatka waterfront is suitable for an Amphib and a great place to park and walk to restaurants.

1/2" snow and still a couple of wet spots on the pond in Fairbanks. Nice trip report. Don't feed the gators and snakes while bass fishing

Snakes should be no problem here as locals are diligent, now as far as gators my black lab will swim after anything, so that’s gonna be a problem! But they to seam to get relocated or fried! But, I’ll keep a watch while I’m in the kayak chasing large mouth and crappie!
I do wonder what the dogs will think the first time they run into a gopher tortoise though… their protected here! And I do have a covey of those in the pasture.

Oh, and one other thing I’ll do is fly down to Key West and surrounding water, I’ll be able to say I’ve flown the entire continental US, as I’ve already been to Barrow, Oliktok Point, and Barter Isl. Yup, I know “Utqiavik”, but it was Barrow when I was there.

My C-185 neighbor at the floatpond migrates to Florida yearly. His current concern is the rising cost of fresh oysters in the local bar. He gets no sympathy from the rest of us.

We’ll I didn’t think about that, but I do know a guy who goes to grassy water and dives for scallops. I’ve got to network so I too can get no sympathy!!
